Exploring the potential of architecture as a system for change, Whakatō Huts plays with the concept of a gradually scalable network of off-grid hostels, designed to create equitable access to accommodation, as well as increasing awareness and accountability for our ecosystem.
Profits from bookings are used for native planting and wildlife conservation efforts along the trail, and upon placing a reservation, guests will be able to choose between paying the nightly fee or committing time to assist with planting and conservation.
